LPCDreissues: Looking forward to the past

This wonderful DOUBLE-LP reissue of a highly regarded 1968 acid-folk masterpiece, recorded in France by a British musician, comes with a treasure trove of rare demo recordings, photographs and liner notes.

Born to a Scottish mother and a Russian father, Nick Garrie began breathing at a young age the bohemian atmosphere that permeated European musical culture of the late Sixties, finding in music the perfect way to express his cosmopolitan and eclectic personality. This is his debut album (1969) recorded in Paris (Garrie lived between England and France) and produced by Eddie Vartan, brother of French pop icon Sylvie. The album is a very interesting piece of pop psych in the very best tradition of the baroque songwriting of late 60's, featuring pop gems like "Wheel Of Fortune" - later on Phil Smee's Circus Days compilation of psycho pop obscurities.
