The Music Machine was a Los Angeles garage-psychedelic outfit formed in 1966 and led by singer-songwriter Sean Bonniwell. They were known for a hard, fuzz-laden proto-punk sound, their stark all-black look (often with a single black glove), and the breakout single “Talk Talk.” The classic lineup featured Mark Landon (guitar), Keith Olsen (bass), Doug Rhodes (keyboards), and Ron Edgar (drums).

Turn On was their 1966 debut LP. A cornerstone of garage rock, it mixes taut Bonniwell originals (“Talk Talk,” “The People in Me”) with label-driven covers (“Hey Joe,” “96 Tears”). Short, razor-edged songs with snarling guitar and Farfisa organ give it a lean, punchy feel.
