Fleur De Lys was a cult British 1960s mod/freakbeat-into-psychedelia band, that formed in Southampton (active roughly 1964–1969). They became known for a run of sharp, collectible singles on labels like Immediate, Polydor and Atlantic, with constantly shifting line-ups—drummer Keith Guster is commonly cited as the only ever-present member.
A 2021 “definitive” compilation (Acid Jazz / Countdown) named after the band’s celebrated cover of The Who’s “Circles.” It gathers the group’s key 1960s singles (spanning R&B, freakbeat, psych and club-soul) and related tracks, released across formats including digital, CD and a limited double-vinyl edition. The set was produced with Keith Guster’s cooperation and compiled by Eddie Piller and Dean Rudland, with notes by biographer Paul “Smiler” Anderson.
