First CD reissue of progressive Krautrock album originally released on Phillips 1971,titled "Vampire State Building"thequintet Alcatraz from Hamburgpresented a pleasant and mainly instrumentalprogressive and experimental bluesy jazz-rock sound, with instant recognisable elements from Miles Davis' In A Silent Way and early King Crimson albums. Most successful was the 12 minute track "Simple Headphone Mind" and the 13 minute title track is a long improvisation, both cuts you will never forget. In addition the album had three shorter tracks, of which "Your Chance Of A Lifetime" (with vocals) was the best. The album was recorded in Tonstudio Wumme, where Faust and Slapp Happy also recorded albums, all engineered by Kurt Graupner. From the Master tapes + one bounustrack with bio and photos.
