This reissue (originally released in '68 on Polydor) fits well with the '60s and early-'70s recordings of Tony Oxley, Keith Tippett and the Spontaneous Music Ensemble. In other words, you get uncompromising jazz-improv from a little-known unit on a major, pop-oriented label. Exiled South African pianist Chris McGregor's musicians were a volcanic force on the British scene. This was a world-class free-band, and it's great to have the evidence back. 1000 copy limited pressing reissue. On coloured vinyl!
