Parallel to his first German tour in October 1978, Klaus Schulzes 10th album was released. In those days the six musical biographies took place on 4 LP-sides. On those 6 tracks that were dedicated to Nietzsche, Trakl, Herbert, Bach, Kleist and Ludwig II., Schulze made clear that he is the master of synthesizer and everybody has to count him to the top of the avantgarde legue of german rock music. The german magazine Sounds counted Schulze second after Michael Rother, in the list of the most poplular german musicians. This re-release of a classic Klaus Schulze album has some little differences from the formerly available CD version. The former CD of "X." was altered in sound (not to everybody's delight) and some tracks were a bit shorter as on the original vinyl album.
Therefore, the music used for this re-release was carefully transferred from original old analogue master tapes to digital equipment. And for those listeners who have already everything of Klaus Schulze, there is a remarkable concert version of "Ludwig", played in September 1978 during a concert by KS together with a classical orchestra of young people, as bonus track.
