Grupo Amigos were a Peruvian rock group—linked to the New Juggler Sound / Laghonia circle—whose sound reflects Peru’s early-’70s move away from heavier psych and hard rock toward a more tuneful blend of soft rock and folk-rock, shaped in large part by The Beatles’ melodic approach.

Originally released in 1973, “Paloma Mensajera” stands as their defining statement: a collection of youthful, instantly catchy originals—frequently sung in both Spanish and English—mixing rich vocal harmonies with hints of pop-psych and occasional bright studio flourishes (including Moog-era touches highlighted in later reissue notes). Recent editions expand the album with bonus tracks and enhanced booklet material, sourced from the original tapes.
