A newly remastered vinyl edition of Kevin Ayers & The Whole World’s classic 1970 album, Shooting at the Moon. Following his departure from Soft Machine, Ayers launched a remarkably adventurous solo career with EMI’s Harvest label, creating music that blended psychedelic pop, Canterbury experimentation, playful songwriting and avant-garde textures.
Originally released in October 1970, the album features an outstanding line-up including Mike Oldfield, Lol Coxhill, David Bedford, Mick Fincher, Robert Wyatt and Bridget St. John. Highlights include the charming May I?, the surreal Clarence in Wonderland, The Oyster and the Flying Fish and the wildly inventive title track.
This new vinyl release has been remastered from the original master tapes, cut at Abbey Road Studios, and restores the original LP artwork in full.
