Armageddon was a British-American hard rock supergroup formed in the mid-1970s by former members of notable rock bands: Keith Relf (vocals, ex-Yardbirds and Renaissance), Martin Pugh (guitar, ex-Steamhammer), Bobby Caldwell (drums, ex-Captain Beyond), Louis Cennamo (bass, ex-Renaissance and Steamhammer)!

Their self-titled album Armageddon is a heavy, progressive rock record with strong influences from blues, space rock, and early metal.

Tracks like “Buzzard” and “Basking in the White of the Midnight Sun” showcase complex arrangements, extended instrumental passages, and a powerful, atmospheric sound.

Despite its critical potential and the pedigree of its members, the band only released this one album, and disbanded shortly after the album’s release due to personal issues and the untimely death of Keith Relf in 1976. Armageddon remains a cult classic, especially admired by fans of 1970s hard and progressive rock for its musical ambition and dark intensity.
