California doesn't look like the natural place for a band sounding the way these guys did, but they were certainly there. Mid-to-late 60s, Powder sound was much more British than West Coast inspired, and they built a legend of theirselves being one of the most exciting mod, pre-powerpop combos ever.
Responsible for anthems such as "I try" or "Turn another page" among many other killer tracks, their music has pleased all mods and pure pop fans around for decades.
US label Distortions did put out this compilation many, many years ago (still available on CD from them). We felt it was time to make it available again to the new Powder generation, so here it is!
