Late 60s Californian psychedelic-garage.
The band was initially called THE CAPTIVES and changed their name in 1967 to CHILDREN OF THE MUSHROOM to depict their new psychedelic choices. In 1968 they recorded a single with SOHO RECORDS, which is considered to be a psychedelic masterpiece. Later they changed their name again, to MUSHROOM this time, and turned toward heavy psych.
This LP contains both tracks from their first single (“August Mademoiselle†and “You can’t erase a mirrorâ€) and unreleased tracks under the name MUSHROOM, which were recorded in 1968.
