Radioactive's new series of limited edition (only 500 copies of most titles will be pressed) 12 inch Picture Discs captures some of the stunning record covers that were a feature of many late '60spsychedelic albums. Great artwork, and some pretty good albums, too!Another classic from the late '60s, this self-titled album features several superb originals and a clutch of extremely competent covers including 3 Tim Hardin songs and a lovely version of EdenAhbez's sublime Nature Boy. The originals are undoubtedly the best tracks, especially the stunning Can You Travel In The Dark Alone. The album has an almost ethereal quality throughout, with a musical style that is often referred to as "baroque-psychedelia", a clear reference to the classical influences and spacey harmonies that prevail throughout. This is widely acknowledged as one of THE top psych albums of the era, and one that still stands the test of time, as does the fantastic album artwork would set this record apart in any era.".....their transcendental takes on The Mojo Men's Me About You and the standard Golden Earrings, with Sando's vocals fed through a Binson Echorec tape echo unit - all lysergic-fueled metaphysical epics of mesmerizing beauty. Hang On To A Dream even rivals Hardin's original. The few tracks that Sando does pen are equally regnant, the spooky I Watch The Moon is a favourite.
