Originally released in September 1974, Hall of the Mountain Grill stands as one of Hawkwind’s most celebrated albums. The record introduced a revised line-up, following the departure of Robert Calvert and Dik Mik, and marked the arrival of keyboardist and violinist Simon House, whose playing added a new progressive and atmospheric dimension to the band’s sound.
Blending studio recordings with live performances captured at London’s Edmonton Sundown in January 1974 and later overdubbed in the studio, the album includes key Hawkwind tracks such as The Psychedelic Warlords, Wind of Change, D-Rider, You’d Better Believe It, Lost Johnny and Paradox. The album became another UK Top 20 success for the band.
This newly remastered edition has been sourced from the original master tapes, cut at Abbey Road Studios, and restores the original LP artwork. It also includes a bonus 12-inch 45 rpm EP featuring four single tracks released in 1974.
