Their debut album originally released in 1965 on Bang Records. Named after the Ventures' 1960 rock instrumental 'B' side, "The McCoy," this Union City, Indiana teen pop group had a monster number one smash hit with their first single Hang on Sloopy (built around a riff and chorus that ranks with "Louie Louie" and "La Bamba" as a garage band perennial with its compelling, elemental simplicity). Featuring the lead vocals and lead guitar of a young Rick Derringer.
