Wiesbaden 1972 captures Guru Guru performing at the Germania-Heim on 4 November 1972, with Mani Neumeier on drums and vocals, Ax Genrich on guitar and Bruno Schaab on bass. Recorded during the group’s classic psychedelic Krautrock period, the concert transforms three pieces associated with the Känguru album into expansive live improvisations.

Each track stretches well beyond its studio form. Genrich’s distorted guitar moves from heavy riffs to abrasive effects and free-form soloing, while Neumeier and Schaab repeatedly break apart and rebuild the rhythmic foundation. With more than seventy-four minutes of intense trio interplay, this archival recording presents Guru Guru at their spontaneous and unpredictable best.
