LPCDreissues: Looking forward to the past

Very rare private recording made at one of the band's gigs in Blackpool, early 1973. This moody, heavy prog outfit were produced in the studio by Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi (for an album originally intended for release on Vertigo) and this performance is as dark and powerful as you'd expect, as it perfectly showcases Barry Dunnery's amazing lead guitar wizardry. In Bill Branch the band also possessed one of the most doomy singers ever to grace a British rock band. His tortured vocals are a sombre trademark of this highly regarded downer-rock quartet. The CD features the entire set as it was performed and the sound quality is just superb. It also includes songs from the bands only album, together with other tracks not previously available. CD features a special poster sleeve extensively detailing the band's history, with many rare photographs and other memorabilia. A great and important discovery.
