The legendary Blood, Sweat & Tears are widely regarded as pioneers in the jazz-rock field, and pulled an ace out of their sleeve for the tenth anniversary performance captured on this superb double set, performed at New York’s Bottom Line on November 8th 1977. Originally broadcast on the King Biscuit Flower Hour, it finds the band tearing it up on a selection of early classics such as Spinning Wheel, And When I Die and You’ve Made Me So Very Happy, as well as more recent material. David Clayton-Thomas is in commanding voice throughout, and there are remarkable solos throughout, indicating that the aggregation still had considerable vitality.
