Following the release of FELT’s first five albums in February, the band’s reissue campaign continues with the second half of their discography.

During the ‘80s Felt recorded ten albums and ten singles for the Cherry Red and Creation labels. This gorgeously-produced series explores the work of one of the greatest indie groups in recent memory.

These vinyl records, unavailable for many years, have been remastered and revisited by Lawrence, and he has fashioned the ultimate definitive collections. They are available in a deluxe gatefold sleeve.

"Me and a Monkey on the Moon" is the tenth and final studio album by Felt, released in 1989. This album marked the end of the band's ten-year run during which they had planned to release ten albums and ten singles — a goal they achieved with this release.

The album continues Felt's tradition of jangly guitar pop but veers into more polished territory, featuring a richer production than many of their earlier records. The instrumentation includes sophisticated arrangements with keyboards, brass, and strings, giving the album a more expansive and somewhat sentimental feel.

Lyrically, "Me and a Monkey on the Moon" is reflective and introspective, with frontman Lawrence exploring themes of love, nostalgia, and personal growth. Songs like "I Can't Make Love to You Anymore" and "New Day Dawning" are emblematic of this lyrical depth, offering a poignant look at relationships and personal transitions.

The album was generally well-received and is celebrated for its mature sound and sophisticated songwriting. Despite not achieving mainstream success, "Me and a Monkey on the Moon" is a cherished piece in Felt's discography, appreciated for its artistic qualities and as a fitting conclusion to the band's ambitious decade-long project.
