Camel is a British progressive rock group formed in 1971, renowned for their melodic, often instrumental sound blending rock, jazz, and classical influences. Guitarist/flutist Andrew Latimer has been the central creative figure throughout their career.

The Snow Goose (full title: Music Inspired by The Snow Goose, 1975) Released in April 1975, Music Inspired by The Snow Goose is Camel’s third studio album and their breakthrough work. It’s a fully instrumental concept album based on Paul Gallico’s novella The Snow Goose — though the “music inspired by” wording was added to the title after legal concerns from the author’s estate. The album tells the story through rich, flowing progressive rock themes, with recurring motifs and orchestral textures. Its blend of lyrical guitar melodies, flute passages, and symphonic arrangements became a signature moment in Camel’s career, earning critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase.
