After singing on one critically-acclaimed album with the short-lived British jazz-rock band Affinity, Linda Hoyle struck out on her own. For 1971's Pieces Of Me, Hoyle called upon musicians of the calibre of guitarist Chris Spedding and pianist Karl Jenkins whose minimalist approach allow Hoyle ample room to show off her impressive vocal style, reminiscent at times of a more intimate Julie Driscoll or Grace Slick.
