Digipack CD Classic 1973 Super session
-Booklet with authoritative and extensive
liner notes by respected author and
journalist Chris Welch.
-Expertly remastered - superb sound quality. 'Triumvirate' is an exciting album that brings together three of the most important musicians
the American blues-rock scene in a celebration of talent and inspiration.
Mike Bloomfield, a virtuoso blues guitarist from Chicago, was involved in Bob Dylan's switch from
acoustic folk to electric rock. He also played with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and formed his
group The Electric Flag. He performed with Al Kooper on the legendary 'Supersession' album and
was known as a perfectionist.
John Paul Hammond, a fine singer and harmonica player was the son of the legendary Columbia
A&R man John Hammond and shared his father's love of blues. John Jnr. recorded his first solo album
in 1964.
Dr.John was born Mac Rebennack in New Orleans and later became known as 'The Night Tripper.'
His funky singing, piano and organ playing is much admired.
This 1973 'super session' features the trio backed by horns and a strong rhythm section on ten stomping
