Epsilon was a German progressive rock and krautrock band founded by vocalist and guitarist Michael Winzkowski (formerly of Orange Peel and Nosferatu), joined by Walter Ortel on organ and keyboards, Michael Ertl on bass, and Hartmut Pfannmüller on drums and percussion.
Active in the early 1970s, the group released three albums between 1971 and 1974, with their self-titled debut widely considered their most compelling and distinctive work.
Their debut album is a standout example of German progressive hard rock, characterized by its rich organ-driven sound and a psychedelic edge that continues to appeal to collectors. It captures a pivotal moment in rock history, when the genre was broadening its scope—blending dramatic classical influences with raw blues power.
