Träd, Gräs och Stenar (often anglicized as Trad Gras Och Stenar) are a Swedish psychedelic/progressive rock collective that formed in 1969, emerging from a lineage of earlier projects: Pärson Sound → International Harvester → Harvester. They’re strongly associated with Sweden’s “progg” movement, though their music tended to be less explicitly political than many of their contemporaries, and they became known for expansive, communal, improvisation-driven jams with an almost leaderless group dynamic.
Their first release under the Träd, Gräs och Stenar name arrived in 1970 and is sometimes referred to as “den gröna” (“the green one” / “Green Album”). The record features notable covers of Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower” and the Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” both reworked into the band’s wide-open, hypnotic, extended jam style.
