899 copies limited and numbered mastered from the original tapes Gruppo d'Alternativa were an Italian progressive rock group from Milan, active in the early 1970s. Their music mixed Italian prog, theatrical vocals, flute, keyboards, guitar, bassoon, and experimental/avant-garde elements.

Ipotesi, released in 1972, was the band's only studio album. It is often described as a concept album or rock opera, with an unusual structure, dramatic vocals, and a style that bridges Rock Progressivo Italiano and early avant-prog / proto-RIO tendencies.
