The short-lived but successful Electric Flag was formed in 1967 by America's finest white blues guitarist Mike Bloomfield. The innovative idea was to meld hard rock with big band brass arrangements. Bloomfield drew in a collection of seasoned professionals from some of America's most successful bands including drummer Buddy Miles who went onto play with Jimi Hendrix in Band of Gypsies.
