Coup De Grace (1981) was the zenith of Mink DeVille's career. Working together with famed producer Jack Nitzsche proved to be a wise step: his influence on its sound made the album a timeless classic. Nitzsche's CV includes work for Phil Spector (arranging hits for The Ronettes & The Crystals), recording and producing Tim Buckley, Marianne Faithfull, Neil Young, Buffalo Springfield and others.

Willy DeVille's unique balladeering style is perfectly framed in a timeless Rock & Roll fashion, with a soulful twist. Combining Punk, Rock, New Wave, '50s R&B and Doo-Wop, Mink DeVille's unique sound has beautifully blossomed on Coup De Grace and will likely live on as their best album.
