Dzyan was a German band that emerged from the Krautrock and jazz fusion scenes, eventually consolidating into a core trio by 1973: guitarist Eddy Marron, bassist Reinhard Karwatky, and percussionist Peter Giger.
Their third and final album, Electric Silence, was recorded in October 1974 at Dierks Studios and released through Bacillus Records. A contemporary review in Jazz Podium described the album as confirming their reputation as "probably the best German band" in jazz-rock.
This record marked the height of Dzyan’s experimental phase, fusing free-form improvisation, mystical overtones, and a wide-ranging sonic palette.
