Fantasy were a Miami psychedelic rock band formed in the late 1960s, and this self-titled album was their only full-length release. The music has a strong American underground feel, mixing blues-rock weight, West Coast psychedelic colour and harder guitar passages into a sound that is raw, energetic and very much of its time.
The album moves from the restless opener Happy and the long, shifting Come to darker pieces such as Wages Of Sin, Circus Of Invisible Men and What's Next. The instrumental Stoned Cowboy gives the record one of its most memorable moments, while this Black Rills Records CD reissue adds four bonus tracks, including both sides of the non-LP single Painted Horse / I Got The Fever.
