Sub’s In Concert is a rare German underground rock album recorded in the summer of 1970 and first issued in 1971 in a very small edition on Help. Despite the title, it is not a true concert recording: the tapes were made at Munich’s Union Studios, with applause added to the opening track to create a live atmosphere. The music itself sits between heavy psych, progressive rock and early Krautrock, with long instrumental stretches and a strong organ-and-guitar presence.
The album is built around the extended Sub Theme I (Sub In Concert), while shorter pieces such as Off, Sub Theme II (Money Maker), Ma-Mari-Huana and Match I show the band’s rougher, more song-based side. This Garden Of Delights LP reissue is limited to 1,000 numbered copies and adds two bonus tracks, I'm A Man and Number One (Off II), along with a four-page LP-size colour insert.
