Originally released in 1973, Lord Krishna von Goloka places the spoken recitations of Swiss writer and folklore researcher Sergius Golowin within an expansive landscape of cosmic electronics, Mellotron, acoustic and electric guitars, flute and percussion. The accompanying musicians include Klaus Schulze and members of Wallenstein and Witthüser & Westrupp, a collective frequently associated with the Cosmic Jokers and Kosmische Kuriere projects.
“Der Reigen” begins with dark keyboard textures before gradually developing into a ritualistic mixture of psychedelic folk and space rock. The shorter “Die weiße Alm” offers the album’s most melodic and uplifting passage, combining acoustic instruments, layered voices and drifting electronics.
The nineteen-minute “Die Hoch-Zeit” occupies the final part of the album, building patiently through Mellotron, hypnotic percussion and increasingly intense instrumental improvisation. Golowin’s German-language words appear as chants, whispers and spoken invocations rather than conventional singing, reinforcing the album’s mystical and ceremonial atmosphere.
