Velvet Opera was one of the most intriguing outfits to grace the underground scene in the late Sixties. This is their second album, released in 1969 after some upheaval within the ranks. Original singer Elmer Gantry and guitarist Colin Forster had been replaced by Johnny Joyce and Paul Brett and they appear on this album alongside bassist and drum John Ford and Richard Hudson.
Much of the material is by Hudson and Ford, who would later go onto fame with the Strawbs and with their own successful group. This 15 track CD shows the new direction the band was taking away from its psychedelic roots. It includes a version of Lennon & McCartneys Eleanor Rigby as well as bonus items the 1970 single cuts She Keeps Giving Me These Feelings and There's A Hole In My Pocket.
