The members of Mirkwood from Dover / UK had performed in other beat/rock-bands before foundation of Mirkwood in 1970. Three years later their only vinyl was recorded and released in a very small number of 99 copies and is selftitled. As the value of original-copies in mint-condition raised up to ¤ 1000,- meanwhile, it was just in time to re-release this wonderful album. The music is very fine progressive-rock with the right moves of psychedelic. Long guitar based tracks ( they performed with two lead-guitars ) and very fine vocals in parts with three layers . Then suddenly real guitar-bursts! All in all an album which is really impressive due to its solidity. Seven long tracks of which one is better than the other."
