Released in 1967, “Side Trips” is the debut album by mutli-talented band Kaleidoscope. Each track on this album stands very well on its own and came to be through David Lindley’s fascination for strings, Chris Darrow’s love for early Beatles and Solomon Feldthouse’s experiments with exotic Eastern sounds. “Side Trip” is psychedelic rock, world and roots music going through diverse moods that the single “Please” alone does not signify. The Summer of Love would not have been complete without this unearthly album.
