Pierre Moerlen re joined Gong as co leader with original member and saxophonist Didier Malherbe in 1975. Didier then left the band in 1977.

Pierre re launched the band as Pierre Moerlen's Gong and signed to the newly formed Arista Records. They cut a number of progressive rock style albums for the label in the mid 70's guest players include Allan Holdsworth and Mike Oldsfield."
