UFO – Live 1970–75 brings together a powerful set of early concert and television performances from one of Britain’s most important hard rock bands. Issued by Repertoire Records as catalogue number V388, this vinyl edition captures the group during a crucial period of transformation, from their bluesy space-rock beginnings with Mick Bolton to the harder, sharper Michael Schenker era.
The album opens with material from UFO’s 1970 appearance on Germany’s legendary Beat Club, showing the band in its original raw form: heavy, loose and still deeply connected to blues-rock and underground psych. Boogie For George and Come Away Melinda present the early line-up at its most atmospheric and exploratory.
The Berlin 1973 recordings mark a major shift in energy. With Michael Schenker now in the band, Rock Bottom, Prince Kajuku and C’mon Everybody reveal a more focused, electrified version of UFO, already moving toward the classic hard rock sound that would define their mid-1970s breakthrough.
The later Roundhouse material from 1975 pushes the set into full-throttle territory. Out In The Street, All Or Nothing, This Kid’s, Shoot Shoot and a final explosive version of C’mon Everybody show the band with greater force, speed and stage confidence, bridging their early underground years with the arena-ready UFO of the classic Chrysalis period.
Fully remastered and presented on vinyl by Repertoire Records, this collection is an essential live document for fans of early UFO, British hard rock, heavy psych, proto-metal and 1970s broadcast recordings.
