hailing from the la suburb of cerritos, channel 3 was a pioneering member of the south california hardcore scene - a scene made up largely of disillusioned teens who found that music was their only viable alternative to hanging out in front of the local mini-mart. on the wave of the overnight popularity of their first full length album, 1982’s fear of life (released in the uk as i’ve got a gun), came after the lights go out (1983), further solidifying their unique sound and making its indelible mark on hc history.
