Well- known British group leaded by Dave Lambert, FIRE's 45 '' Father's name is dad'' (Decca, 1967) is considered a classic of the freakbeat genre, having been included in uncountable compilations since the 80's.
The band is also remembered for their sole full- length album, '' The magic shoemaker'' , a perfect example of the transition from psychedelia to progressive rock, in 1970. But before releasing this album, the band recorded a number of demos and acetates, ranging from freakbeat to psychedelic and early prog- rock.
