Stud’s Goodbye, also known as Goodbye (Live At Command), captures the band in a studio-live setting at Command Studios in London in May 1972. Formed by former Taste members Richard “Charlie” McCracken and John Wilson with Jim Cregan and John Weider, Stud moved through progressive rock, blues-rock and jazz-tinged instrumental passages with a loose but highly musical feel.

The album is dominated by two long pieces, Horizon No. 2 and Harpo's Head No. 2, where the group stretch out far beyond standard rock song form. Around them, shorter tracks such as Samurai, Big Bill's Banjo Bend and Ocean Budgie add acoustic, melodic and offbeat touches. This Hifly Sound Anstalt LP reissue presents the rare 1972 recording on limited orange vinyl.
