Although the Status Quo are best known for their years spent as a boogie rock outfit, they actually began life as one of Britain's top psychedelic bands. By the time their debut album Picturesque Matchstickable Messages was released in 1968, the Status Quo had already broken into the top ten with the singles "Pictures of Matchstick Men" and "Ice In The Sun", both featured on this album. The album also included covers of The Bee Gees "Spicks And Specks", The Lemon Pipers' "Green Tambourine", and Tommy Roe's "Sheila". This deluxe reissue features the original mono recordings.
