The legendary John Mayall is one of the key figures who turned Blues into widespread popular music in the 60's. Born in 1933 his musical career already spans over fifty years. He was the founder of John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers and, as a gifted talent-scout, has been influential in the careers of many instrumentalists, including Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood, Mick Taylor, Aynsley Dunbar, Walter Trout and many more.
'Tough' is his 57th (!) studio album, originally released in 2009. Taking on multiple instruments (piano, organ, six and twelve string guitar, and harmonica, along with his signature vocals) Mayall is backed by his touring band guitar phenomenon Rocky Athas, bassist Greg Rzab, drummer Jay Davenport, and organist/pianist Tom Canning.
