Brand new studio album from 70’s luminaries East Of Eden featuring the three founding members: saxophonist Ron Caines, violinist Dave Arbus and guitarist Geoff Nicholson. Also featured are guest musicians: Roger Harding playing double bass, Joe Ospalla on drums and Frank Dymore on congas. In the late 60s and early 70s, East Of Eden were one of the hardest working bands in the country although countless personnel changes, and a curious hit single ‘Jig-a-Jig’, obliterated the original purpose of the band. Yet when they formed, they were at the forefront of experimental music of that era. Their utilisation of jazz, eastern scales, reggae rhythms, and influences such as classical composer Bartok helped them cross musical boundaries years before the term ‘World Music’ was coined. The original line-up made two albums, “Mercator Projected” and “Snafu”. Dave Arbus also performed the long violin solo ending on the legendary ‘Baba O’Reilly’, from the album “Who’s Next”.Since reuniting in the 1990’s, they have concentrated on playing mainly jazz based instrumental material and this new release continues that vein.
