The San Francisco based Blue Cheer were an American psychedelic blues-rock band that initially performed and recorded in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and were sporadically active from that point on until 2009.
They are credited as being pioneers of heavy metal.
It seems that Jim Morrison of The Doors called the group the single most powerful band he had ever seen.
'What Doesn't Kill You...' is their tenth and final studio album, originally released in 2007.
In October 2009 singer/bassplayer Dickie Peterson died of a severe illness.
After Peterson's death, longtime Blue Cheer guitarist Andrew MacDonald wrote on the group's website that Blue Cheer will never become a viable touring band again.
