Originally released in August 1970 on Liberty Records, Hawkwind introduced one of the most distinctive and adventurous bands to emerge from the UK underground scene. Recorded in March and April of the same year, the album captured the group’s raw early sound, combining psychedelic rock, blues-driven riffs, experimental textures and the first signs of the space-rock style that would later define their career.
Featuring standout tracks such as Hurry On Sundown, Mirror of Illusion, Be Yourself, Seeing It As You Really Are and Paranoia, the album laid the foundations for Hawkwind’s legendary 1970s output and remains an essential document of their formative period.
This newly remastered vinyl edition has been sourced from the original master tapes, cut at AIR Studios, and restores the original 1970 gatefold LP artwork, making it a definitive presentation of this landmark debut album.
