Gov't Mule is a southern rock jam band formed in 1994 as an Allman Brothers Band side project by Warren Haynes and Allen Woody.
This record is their self-titled debut album, originally released in 1995.

It has a very jam oriented feel to it and was mostly recorded live in the studio with many tracks running into each other.
'Mule' is still a live favorite, and 'Rockin' Horse' was later recorded by The Allman Brothers Band when Warren Haynes rejoined the group for the album 'Hittin' the Note'."
